ORIX Foundation is committed to advancing education,
strengthening communities and improving lives. We want children and families to succeed – in school, in the workforce and in life.

ORIX Foundation, a Texas nonprofit corporation, was established by ORIX USA Corporation in January 2009. ORIX USA began its charitable giving programs three years earlier when CEO Jim Thompson became involved in supporting Dallas charities as a member of the boards of Dallas CASA and World Craniofacial Foundation. At that time, Jim formed a committee at ORIX USA to investigate how the company could better serve its employees and communities through charitable means. The company’s charity committee determined its efforts and budget should support nonprofit organizations which provide basic needs to children and families in the communities where ORIX USA employees live and work. ORIX USA wanted its dollars to make an impact in the community, and so it sought underfunded and local organizations, many brought to its attention by ORIX USA employees involved in the nonprofit organizations.
ORIX Foundation’s primary programs are its Charitable Giving Program, in which it directly funds certain partner charities, and the Employee Matching Program, in which it matches funds raised or donated by ORIX USA employees. ORIX Foundation is proud that its matching program has steadily grown, with more ORIX USA employees getting involved each year. In October 2009, ORIX Foundation kicked off its first holiday charity campaign, benefiting the North Texas Food Bank. Through this and future giving campaigns, ORIX Foundation hopes to continue to foster a giving environment among its employees, their families and the Dallas community.
