Letters to Sendai and the Travis Manion Run

Here at ORIX USA, we have a great bunch of folks always willing to get involved and help out as needed. Recently, we had two such opportunities for employees to lend a hand.

The money raised primarily by ORIX USA, Houlihan Lokey, Red Capital Group and Mariner Investment Group to support relief efforts in Sendai, will be given to children in that region in the form of need based scholarships to ensure that these kids have what’s necessary to continue their education, despite devastating loss. In all, $459,460 was raised and our employees got together one morning with paper, markers and creative juices flowing, in order to produce notes and pictures encouraging the kids in Sendai to remain strong. These notes and pictures will certainly add a personal touch to the presentation of the check.

Fifty-nine employees arose quite early on Sunday, September 11th to run in support of the Travis Manion Foundation. The Foundation provides “Challenge Grants” to survivors of fallen American Heroes - parents, children, siblings, spouses, and battle buddies - helping them accomplish a goal while honoring the memory of a fallen service member and supporting them in the healing process. They also pair wounded and disabled veterans serving with families of Fallen Heroes to help keep alive the spirit of service and love of country they exemplified in life.
